Education: Go Get It! week is observed every year to encourage students to learn more about colleges and the benefits of continuing their education beyond high school. We encourage students to begin thinking about their goals and their future early in their school years. Parents can participate by discussing these education-related topics daily with their students and by sharing ways that their families value education. Following is a list of dress days and themes we’ll be focusing on this week:
Monday, September 30: Be True to Your School! Wear a shirt from any RRISD school. Parents, talk about where you went to school. Tuesday, October 1: An Education is as Good as Gold! Wear gold or yellow. Talk about your favorite school memory. Wednesday, October 2: You’re #1 with a College Education! Wear a jersey or shirt with a number on it. Help your child figure out the year that they will graduate from high school. Thursday, October 3: You’ll go Places with a Degree! Wear a shirt with the name of a place on it. Look at a map to see where colleges that your student might be interested in are located. Friday, October 4: College Spirit! Wear a shirt from any college, university, or technical school. If you have any questions or would like more information about Education: Go Get It! week, please contact our school counselor, Debbie Symington at 512-428-3807 or by email at [email protected] |
