It is hard to believe that our first semester is coming to a close. As always, the year has flown by. I have so enjoyed getting to know your sweet children and watching them grow. As we wrap up this week, I wanted to keep you updated with curriculum and announcements and request your help for some optional homework over the break.
We recently concluded a social studies unit on maps, land forms and bodies of water. Additionally we are currently studying objects in the day and night sky for science. If you and your family travel, please take time to show your child a map (paper or on your phone). If you see interesting land forms or bodies of water (mountains, lakes, etc) on your travels, please snap a photo and email them to me. I would also love pictures of clouds or the night sky (if your little one gets a chance to stay up late!). I can then make a slideshow to share when the students come back in January.
Finally, don't forget our party tomorrow! We'd love to have you with us from 8:00-10:00. Thanks for all the supply donations and for all who have offered to send in food items for our room party. If you need a reminder, email me, and I will let you know what you signed up for. Also, if you choose to take your child home early tomorrow, please be sure to sign out with me first, so we can make sure all are accounted for.
Please check out link to our news letter for more information about our studies. I wish you a very happy holiday season with your family and a wonderful new year!
